I went to Bull on the Beach Sunday night for dinner. I have been there before and there was a huge wait. This time no wait, which was nice. We were seated at a small awkward table and asked the waitress to move us to a bigger table. Which she was able to do without a problem. The food was good. I ordered a pit beef sandwich. The beef was pretty well done. I would have wanted it more rare, but I wasn't given the option. The bar drinks were good. They were served in a plastic cup - very beachy. The service was hit or miss. The main meal and salads came out lightning fast. But it took a while to track down the server for drink refills or the mustard and horseradish I asked for on my sandwich. Also, there was some confusion with paying the bill. All in all, it was a good, laid back option for dinner at the beach.

Great place to sit, have a few beers and maybe an app.. plus they have dogfish head on tap, major plus!!!
(4)John A.
Happy hour is the time to go
(4)Tom M.
Food was average for lunch. The bar was busy but the dining room was not crowded during a Wednesday lunch. I had he French dip wrap special. It was fine but by no means memorable. The kids shrimp gasket was straight out of the freezer an my daughter barely touched it.
(3)Chris C.
Will never go back. Food was gross.
(2)William F.
The day I plan to eat here, I save up all day..... the open pit beef sandwiches are the best I've ever had. I'll also take part in the tremedous raw bar they have. I've had the intention of trying a steak there, and just can't seem to get away from ordering the open pit sandwich. I've seen them served though, and they look mouth watering. This place has certainly turned into a tradition for me and my family.
(4)Alex M.
Dinner was avg. However they have an excellent raw bar and would reccomend this place for apps. Great shrimp, clams, oysters, mussles.
(3)Heidi K.
Love this place! Friendly staff, great bar, AWESOME good. Highly, highly recommend! The shrimp salad sandwich is sooooo yummy! Huge actual shrimp - not diced up pieces. The bar always has good music and great drinks. This place rocks!
(5)C K.
We went for dinner last night. My wife got the hot roast beef for 8.95. That is probably their best deal. Service was good and the beers kept coming. I got a wrap. It was good and came out pretty fast. We will keep it on our radar.
(3)Krissy P.
Cool place, stopped here by recommendation from a few locals we met on the bus. Fast and friendly service. Delicious food. We had the nachos which was sooo good. Perfect size and full of toppings. Delicious! I had the ahi tuna salad which was awesome and as for my friends, I dont remember what they had. But they all loved their meals. Another great restaurant during our trip to OC.
(4)Bryan D.
We were pretty disappointed with the bull last night. The pit beef was so tough and grisly. The waitress was obviously overworked and underpaid. She was not interested in waiting on our party of 6. I was sooo looking forward to a pit beef sandwich. I didn't stop for any snacks on the drive from southern Maryland There are better places for pit beef, with much better service. The corona's were cold. There, I didn't want to end a review on a bad note. So 2 stars for cold beer.
(2)Greg H.
Long wait to get drinks and our order taken. My wife got fried shrimp and oyster dinner. I got the open pit beef and added a crab cake. I was told I could not add the crab cakes because I didn't get a dinner. I pointed out that my wife got a dinner and asked if I could add it to hers. Yes, I could do that. I'm not sure what the issue was then. My wife loved her dinner. My open pit beef was outstanding...always is. The crab cake was undercooked. Service was poor, three of us ran out of drinks before we were offered refills. The prices are pretty reasonable for Ocean City.

Fun place to hang out! Food is wonderful - great menu selection. Great place to meet new friends.

SO...After a great day on the board walk, we wondered into Bull on the Beach. WE were promptly seated and our server Brittany took our drink orders. We started with appetizers Crab Dip (delicious) Seafood Potato Skins (very cheesy with different seafood in it..it was ok). The menu was full of fried and smothered with gravy or cheese items...it was a hard choose....everything on the menu was a guilty pleasure. I decided on a side salad and 1/2 pound of steam shrimp and he has the loaded cheese fries with onions (as I looked at him like...babe thats alot of potatoes) he loved it. Britney was a very good waitress and deserved her 10%, which we gladly gave. Nice place to eat.
(5)Alick W.
Have to update this review as the first time I was here, I did not try any of the open pit beef sandwiches and now that I have, this place deserves 5 stars. It is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. It's also a great sports bar too as they has the mlb package on.
(5)James K.
Got here at 2pm, so it wasn't too busy. We were seated immediately and the waiter was around frequently to get our drinks and orders, so the service was great. I ordered the Barn and Bay (roast beef with a crab cake ) with fries and my girlfriend ordered an open face meatloaf sandwich with mashed potatoes. The food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and it was hot. The reason for the four stars had to do with the quality of the ingredients. My girlfriend's meatloaf sandwich had a very generic/SYSCO/not homemade gravy on it. Just thought it was strange that everything else seemed to be made on site.

So after not finding ANY space to park anywhere on Fourth of July in OC we decided to throw in the towel and get some lunch. We sat at a high top table in the bar area and were greeted by Lindsay, a bartender. We ordered some drinks and then food. Everyone around us was getting their food but us so we asked about ours. The kitchen had never received our order, we were kinda bummed but even more hungry, so we waited. During our brief wait Lindsay offered up a free round of drinks for us which was AWESOME! I love bull on the beach to begin with but Lindsay's customer service was great! We'll be back to see her!

Went here last night as its walking distance from our hotel. The ambience is definitely beachy. Our waitress was excellent. My husband had the crab cake and thought it was so so. I had the seafood feast from the appetizer menu. The difference between it and the dinner feast is two sides. My platter was great. It had mussels clams oysters and shrimp. The dish is steamed with the shrimp seasoned with old bay. There was plenty to eat. My husband finished his two crab cake dinner before I was done! The dish is listed for 2 people but I had no trouble finishing the whole dish myself as my dinner entree. The seafood was delicious.
(3)Matt E.
Absolutely terrible. Low class environment. Over priced items and food wasn't good at all. My girlfriend and I both got the "bull" steak and it was possibly the worst steak I ever ate. I ordered medium-rare it came out well done and charred. Not to mention the cover the whole steak in pepper. You can't even taste the meat. It's not good quality meat at all. The sides are pathetic, when there's only 5 sides to choose from and 3 of those are potatoes and then a cole slaw and microwaved veggies that's pretty bad. When we got back to the hotel the owner asked where we went to eat. We told him and he shook his head and said that place has been going down hill for years. Overall it was a very bad experience the service wasn't good either. I recommend finding a different place
(1)Adam S.
We always stay close to The Bull but this was our first visit. It was busy but the wait was shorter then expected. We sat on the deck and were told they would move us if the rain they were tracking moved in. They were prepared. The food was excellent. I had a steak, medium well, cooked perfect. My wife had a pit beef sandwich, their specialty and my daughter had the ribs which fell off the bone. Service was great. The only negative was that the portions were a little small for the price, but I guess thats expected at the beach. Will return.
(4)Mike D.
Their rib sandwich is amazing, especially with fries and gravy! Seriously, just try it and you'll want to go back for more. Their staff is nice, but they can give slow service at times.
(4)Navy C.
Awesome crab cakes, French onion soup, steak salad and the 1/2 pound of steamed shrimp were good too. Not quite a 5 star rating but definitely a great pub atmosphere and solid 4. Place gets packed and could use a bit extra staffing during peak season.
(4)MK B.
Bull on the Beach is a resounding mediocre. Definitely edible but not great by any means. I ordered the chicken dinner which was two chicken breasts and I ordered mashed potatoes and veggies as my two sides. My friend got the crab cake dinner with a baked potato and veggies. I noticed when the food came that we had different amounts of vegetables on our plates. His wound up being a bit undercooked while mine were a bit overcooked. My friend did like his crab cakes and potato. My mashed potatoes were good but my chicken while moist was very fatty. The first breast was edible but the second was not due to its rubbery texture and burnt outer skin. I also was not a fan of the styrofoam bowl to serve my potatoes in nor the plastic cups they use for their drinks.
(3)Becki S.
The brisket is amazing! I've never had a bad meal here. I usually stay across the street and make several takeout trips throughout the week. The staff was very friendly this year which is sometimes hard to find in ocmd!
(4)Sally S.
Came here for a nice bite to eat at dinner and it was just that. I tried the coconut shrimp app with the fruit glaze type sauce which was very very sweet paired with coconut shrimp, I thought it definitely couldve used something salty either in the sauce or on the shrimp. My boyfriend got a sandwich and hes a big guy and it was the perfect size for him. It was HUGE! Which is awesome! It was very tasty. I got the wings and they werent the best wings i ever had, they werent the worse either. The food came out very quickly and our waiter was very attentive. Overall this was a nice place to grab a bite to eat.
(3)Rob W.
Great food, great bartenders, & great music. Cant ask for anything more. Raw bar and beef brisket was fantastic. Raw tuna was the best I've had
(5)Rich H.
Nice relaxed atmosphere. The service was quick and the food was good too. Would definitely go back and tell my friends about it.
(5)Nitin S.
Got the bull brisket from the sandwich menu and it might have been one of the top sandwiches I've had in my life. Great service, fast and friendly. Crabcake sandwich was meh. Okay, but we've had better. Would come here again when in town
(4)Tony D.
I frequent the location on the boardwalk much more often than the full sized restaurant on 94th street. A group of 7 of us came in for lunch on Friday during bike week. We chose to sit at the bar and eat. The bartender that day was a real character. He was joking with us and was entertaining. I had the chili to start and the open pit beef sandwich. The chili was excellent and had just the right amount of kick to it. You can never go wrong with the roast beef here. A huge sandwich! My friend had the hot turkey and gravy platter, with the mashed potatoes. Also a great way to go. It is hard to finish that! This location has a much larger menu to choose from, including a lot of seafood options. I have to say every time I am here I always go for the beef. The bar area is very large, and they have a shuffleboard and ping pong table that we put to use. If you are in the area and craving roast beef, this is the place to go.
(3)Ernie C.
Good beer selection. Steamed shrimp were delish. Steak was cooked perfectly. Waiter was excellent
(4)Bee W.
Went there last night. Food was great. I got some beef sandwich that had a ton of meat and was cooked excellent. My gf got the buffalo tenders good as well. Definitely a spot I recommend
(4)Chesapeake B.
Steamed shrimp were good, but the oysters were on the small side.
(3)Jennifer I.
Very good! Loved everything! Get crab dip for an appetizer if you go. Great service great food
(4)BJ P.
Went here for lunch one day. Ordered the seafood potato skins, bull brisket sandwich and open pit sandwich. The seafood potato skins are out of this world...you need to buy these! The bull brisket sandwich was really good as well, but the open pit sandwich appeared to be missing something as there was no topping. If you are in the area...give the seafood potato skins a try.
(4)Teresa A.
I have to admit, their happy hour is pretty stellar!... I might even say the best in OC. So my 5 star rating is for the happy hour only... cannot speak for dining. I uploaded a pic of their happy hour menu (see pictures). But something like $4 for half a dozen oysters is ridiculously, insanely cheap! Mussels are $6 and you get a mountain of them! Fries with gravy is the bomb and only like $3.50, again you get a mountain.... enough for a table of 4! After we stuffed our faces with food and beer we were about to leave and we discovered a ping pong table on the covered patio out back. No one was out there and they paddles and balls were anxiously awaiting us to play with them. We ordered more beer and played ping pong for probably another hour... it was perfect! Especially since they had a TV playing the O's game out there too! Only complaint.... when you are at the beach, you want to be outside. They do have outdoor seating for the restaurant, but not for the bar, where you need to be for happy hour deals. I feel like I am in a dungeon when I am there, yes they have windows, but it is like your typical bar you would find in Baltimore. I wish it was more beachy.
(5)Chris V.
4 stars bc my kids really love this place. On the salty side. Kids love the potato skins. Would give 5 stars if I could find fav meal. Go before 530 pm to avoid long waits here.
(4)Edward P.
Visited this place a few times since we stayed at the condos nearby. Our first time we came for lunch, had great drinks, great service, and had the "special" recommended by the waitress - Shredded Beef Tacos which were also great. We then visited another time in the evening and had horrible service & horrible nachos. The waitress just simply ignored us and was preoccupied with her friends then her job. She acted as if she wanted nothing to do with us. Decided to try this place a third time thinking we just had a bad waitress. wings were soggy despite asking them to be extra crispy and the BBQ pulled pork gives you a stomach ache. Would def not recommend this place, nor would we return again.
(1)Matt M.
My favorite spot in OCMD! Great beer selection and prices, awesome oysters (a must have if you go) and great sandwiches. We also tried their french onion soup and steamed shrimp on our most recent visit, would 100% order again. Bar section always has a couple games (Golden Tee and darts this last time) and always have shuffle board in the back. Also has a ton of TVs so great place to watch a game or several at the same time. If you are there, go to the Bull, you won't regret it!
(4)Enrique D.
Really excellent food. Lots of fresh seafood, good burgers and an excellent happy hour. Sandwiches however looked pretty bland . The service is very friendly and the bartenders make it fun to sit at the bar. They remember your name and will really engage the clients. This is one of those places that completes any stay at Ocean City. I hear the original place is/was better. Cant say for sure as ive never been.
(3)Joe J.
Bar staff excellent- great atmosphere- great food- I don't recommend the wings- even at happy hour prices they are overpriced and average tasting. Anything with beef is crazy good- large portion sizes. We have been here many times- always bar side and always come back- next time we visit OC we will be back for more!!!
(5)Sam P.
Love this place. I have eaten there many times and the food has always been good. I must say my wife and I always get the roast beef. It's a good place for a low cost meal.
(4)Joseph J.
Had the open pit-beef sandwich..."an Ocean City tradition". Really? Years ago this place was only on the boardwalk & served some great hot open pit-beef. No more folks. My sandwich was served cool as were the fries. C'mon man! Can't you serve a roast beef & fries hot? Plus the roll was stale. Like it had been sitting out in the open for hours. You are known for doing beef...but you failed. My niece got the ribs & they were dry, like days old & re-heated dry. Living on your reputation from years past won't cut it. You need to be on the leading edge of food quality & service. Save your money folks & dine elsewhere.
(2)J M.
Great all around casual restaraunt - fun environment, great food, and friendly staff. The South of the Border Wrap is amazing! Pit Beef + Mango Apricot salsa + Bacon + Corn + Cheddar Jack = Stellar Vacation Food
(4)Kyle D.
Always a crowd, but service is quick and friendly once seated. Parking is tough, you have street parking on both sides of restaurant, and two small parking lots on both sides. Drop someone off to put their name in and get buzzer, and send other to find parking. They had an ahi special tonight that was awesome. Asked for it just seared on both sides and came out great with a nice "cajun" seasoned crust and raw in middle. Prefect. Sides are average, but not bad. Standard fries, Coleslaw, etc.... Kid friendly, but very fast paced Wait staff, so keep the kids in their seats! Speaking of kids, their waiting area is essentially a side walk. Prepare to keep little ones entertained.
(4)Emily G.
My husband and I loved it! We had the crab dip and raw oysters to start with. Both were delicious and came out quickly. We both ordered steaks...and they were juicy and well seasoned. Our server was very friendly. Definitely recommend it!
(5)Katie S.
What's the one thing to look forward to in ocean city? Crab cakes! Well the crab cakes here are by far the WORST I have ever tasted. They were 2 balls of some mushy substance maybe from a can?! I ordered the dinner with 2 and barely made it through half of one. The vegetables were definitely the frozen kind that you microwave in a bag with no taste whatsoever.. and the mash potatoes were even terrible!! I tasted them and immediately told my daughter not to touch hers. I don't understand there were a ton of people waiting so you would assume the place is going to be good but I would rather get food from McDonalds before I'd ever come back here. Don't waste your time or money!
(1)Kevin G.
I've been there twice and thoroughly enjoyed my experience both times. If you're looking for a solid dining experience for a reasonable price, then you're at the right place. I got the Seafood Feast both times and you can't beat the amount of food you get for $20. I don't thinkk you could fnd seafood at the beach for any cheaper. If you don't mind platic cups and side dish bowls, and just really care about the food, I recommend Bull on the Beach for a solid meal after a long day on the beach.
(4)Jesse W.
Came to Bull on the Beach with some friends on a Sunday afternoon. Service was very slow (nearly 2 hours for lunch). I got a pit-beef special, and the beef was dry as a bone. This is congruent with my experiences at the Bull on the Beach location in Bel Air, MD. Skip this one, there are better places to eat.
(2)Samuel B.
Best steak I have had in OC this year and wife got a pit beef sandwich and wife said it was good and the bar tenders were quick and staff was friendly.
(5)Kimberly W.
Our waitress was great! Our food came out fast which would normally be a good thing, however, our food was cold. The food here used to be so flavorful but sadly it was not the case today.
(1)Alyce T.
On our last night of vacation we decided to try dinner here. My husband is a huge fan of ribs so he ordered the full rack. It was a good size but seemed that it was just heated up in the microwave. I have never seen him leave uneaten ribs anywhere but he couldn't stomach these. When the waitress asked if there was anything wrong, he just said they weren't good. She didn't even hesitate to take it off the check. Made us wonder if she knew how terrible they were or if that happens regularly. I just had the chicken sandwich, nothing spectacular. We were expecting something much different but were very disappointed and will definitely avoid going back on any future visits to OC.
(1)Meagan G.
Had lunch with my mother there today. Very slow day, nothing major occurring in town. Sat in the bar area, maybe 10-15 people max with my mother and I in that total. Service was terrible. While she took our drink order straight away, had to flag her down to put in food order (we waited at least 15 minutes for her to come over, but she never did). Food came up and I could see in the kitchen, took them 4 minutes to run out the food to our table. Tried paying after we were done eating but waitress/bartender kept ignoring us. Had to walk up to the bar to request check. I could understand if the bar was busier, but sadly this was not the case. Food was mediocre and a bit over priced but that's the beach... so it is what it is.
(2)Sherri D.
Maybe I selected the wrong food for dinner, but I wasn't thrilled -- nor were any of my friends. We had outside seating and it was so/so. Nothing fancy, but it seemed like a good place to just chill and grab a drink. I got the shrimp salad sandwich with a side of potato salad. It was so, so. The shrimp was in a mayo sauce with chopped up celery, but the sauce itself was so bland. No taste at all! It just needed a pinch of something like hot sauce or something. My friend got the French onion soup with the cucumber salad on the side - and well, she didn't like her food either. The cucumber salad looked like it was in a small cup of watery vinaigrette. Ehhhh! My friend got the huge seafood platter and he enjoyed his meal the most. The inside was half family restaurant/half bar. The bar was pretty crowded and it looks like their drinks/happy hour specials are good at least! Maybe I'll come back and try that next time... but as for the food - meh, I think I'll pass.
(2)Art M.
The Bull steak was mediocre, overdone even though I ordered medium rare. Disappointed considering this place is classified as a steak house.Everything else was fine, including the server.
(3)Mike D.
Service was fast and our waitress was very attentive for our group of 10 people. Constantly checking back to make sure we were taken care of. I got the open pit beef sandwich and a baked potato on the side. Overall very good portion of beef in the sandwich. It definitely needs a sauce to go with it as the beef itself was a tad dry. The baked potato was just normal, sour creme and butter. Overall good experience.
(4)Mel L.
Let me start by saying I love bull on the beach, but the one on the boardwalk. Although it is basically the same restaurant it is not. The menu was not what I was use to, but the portions and taste was there. The meat is fresh sliced and the rolls are super soft. The service was a little slow and they don't like changes to the menu. So like I said great food but if you want a truly great bull on the beach experience go to the boardwalk
(4)John H.
Tried to give them a make up shot this year after a so so experience last year. Even worse this year and before the crowd. Only thing that was slightly good was the crab dip oh And my 2 sample beers! All 4 of our meals were piss poor. My wife's Ruben was the most entertaining with no sauerkraut and what smelled and looked like sweat & sour sauce with relish. All the other roast beef plates consisted of overdone dried out beef that you had to drench in sauce to swallow. $108 for a family of 4 is ridiculous for the lack of effort they dish out! Save your money and just go to wawa for a better meal!
(1)Brian C.
They don't have a desert menu. I did not try any food, but had a mixed drink. It was ok. I would not go back for the drink, but maybe to try the food. The server and hostess did a good job.
(3)Alicia K.
We went for a quick lunch. I got the chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce. It was a bit plain but good with some ketchup. My family got the roast beef (that was a hit) and bbq pit beef (that wasn't so popular). Fries were excellent. Service was very quick and our server was very friendly!
(4)John M.
A huge crowd there last night, but the wait wasn't too long (10 min.). Once we were seated the server was nice, as well as the atmosphere. I don't have really too many complaints except for the seating (plastic chairs and tables outdoors) and the expensive drinks. Our three drinks, although delicious, accounted for nearly half the bill! Most likely a one and done, but great food.
(3)Tara L.
Great place for fried oysters, and raw bar. The signature drink, the Raging Bull, a dark rum daiquiri , is really good, but the raspberry daiquiri , topped with whipped cream, was my table's favorite. The waitstaff was attentive, knowledgeable, and fun. The menu isn't super huge , but there are plenty of choices, from sandwiches to platters.
(4)Travis C.
The food was excellent the service was good. The decor needs an update. Would definitely advise you go for lunch because dinner wait time tops2hrs. Also recommend there t-shirts .
(4)Patty R.
Roast beef sandwich was great. Husband got the flounder and he said it was very good. Beer in a frosty mug.... Very, very enjoyable meal. My only complaint-$2.59 seems high for a salad.
(4)Matthew H.
The inside reminds me of a run down pub or Hooters (I would have much rather eaten at Hooters... their wings are awesome and its got a more active environment). We started with the buffalo wings, which were ok. Nothing I'd need to have again. I had a 1/2 pound of the steamed shrimp and my dining companion had a pit beef sandwich. The food was fine. It was unimaginative, basic, and nothing special. I guess my problem with this place is when I go on vacation, I want to eat at places that offer something unique. This place doesn't do that. Was there anything wrong with the food or the service? Not really. But it's unfair to compare it to awesome places like Liquid Assets or Blue Fish - both right across the street. Basically, there are better places to eat - even in the culinary wasteland of Ocean City.
(2)Mandana Y.
Ridiculous. Just ridiculous. The fried oysters here are ridiculous. The prices here are ridiculous. The fact that the day I went their 'side of the day' was mac and cheese wasn't so ridiculous, but rather fate. Some of the freshest seafood Ocean City has to offer at really reasonable prices. The service was quick, friendly, and non-judgmental. Meaning you can drunkenly scarf down a whole plate of oysters, clams and shrimp (for $15) in 10 minutes and still think you look like a lady.
(4)Just A.
Nice sandwich, would have better if it was hot. French fries were warm at best, it's a good thing it's on the boardwalk lots of other options.
(2)Kim C.
I had the sandbagger sandwich. Very unique sandwich and very tasty. Kind of pricey but it was good . Sat at the bar, typical locals spot.
(3)Miyuki L.
Oh Bull on the Beach! Why can't you be Bull on the Gaithersburg... We come here everytime we goto Ocean City and occassionally get the food to go for the road home. I love their crabcakes and the fries.. Another favorite of my family is the the open face roast beef with gravy and fries... I also love the buffet sandwich which is the pit beef and ham. The people are friendly and helpful for the most part. The food is reasonably priced and fresh.
(4)Tim C.
Maybe the best dinner in Ocean City. You want to get the Steamed Shrimp appetizer, which is $17.95 for a pound of Steamed Shrimp and a pitcher of beer (or soft drink). The shrimp are always fantastic, seasoned perfectly with the right mixture of old bay and spices. The cocktail sauce is unique and is the best I have had. Most cocktail sauces taste like the generic Philips or grocery store variety. The open pit sandwiches are a great compliment to the steamed shrimp. The open faced ham is always excellent, piled high, and tastes great with the yellow mustard. The open pit beef is also excellent - make sure you have the tiger and horseradish sauces with this sandwich. For salad lovers, the deli salad has a tremendous portion of turkey/ham/roast beef, with greens, tomato's, and cheese. Can't recommend enough.
(5)Kayla H.
The food was OK, but certainly not great. Generally, I want everything on a menu. Here...I came up with one. The service was terrible all around. Big group, called ahead....no record of it. The hostess acted annoyed that we wanted to sit and start drinks/appetizers. Waiter had no interest in earning his set gratuity. Overall, there have to better places in Ocean City. It was our first night, so not sure what they are.
(2)Amanda M.
If I could give a quarter of a quarter of a star I would, maybe. All I can say is GROSS GROSS GROSS. Really! Who the hell are these people that have anything but a shitty review for this place. Ribs fell of the bone?!,,... yes but that's cuz they were so petrified and so extremely dry and over seasoned that the meat had no choice but to run away. Mashed potatoes were definitely never "mashed" and surely from a powder mix, and the gravy was well, not gravy. People please get a clue. Cook more. Eat better food. Open your taste buds and please stop giving these nasty places multiple stars so that people like myself dont waste my precious time dining at this and these establishments.
(1)Alex A.
I've been coming here since I was ten. I love the roast beef, the pit beef, the raw bar, the steamers, the drinks: this place has it all. Except an uptight atmosphere ;)
(5)Kevin G.
This place was gross. Not at all what the other reviewers claim it to be. The waitress was friendly and made sure we had what we wanted as far as drinks etc. My girlfriend ordered her steak medium well and it bled when she cut into it. The mushrooms that came with it were cold and on the side. I love crab cakes. The best ones have whole chunks of crab meat in them. Not these, they were very stringy and unbelievably salty and had a strong fishy taste. Unless this is your last option I would suggest trying another location first.
(1)Jessica H.
Order the steamed and spicy shrimp, they have spice, but not overwhelming! The price is very afforable. I ate the crab cakes with cole slaw and sweet potato fries on the side. The waitstaff was very polite and helpful in making a decision of what to get!
(4)Bill B.
good food ,great service.get there early or stand in line
(4)Jennifer S.
This restaurant was steps away from our hotel. After walking nearly the entire boardwalk with my mom for nostalgic reasons (we have not visited Ocean City in almost 20 years even though we live in Maryland-our families prefer out of the area vacations), we were ravenous. My mother ordered the fried oysters, which she described as fresh and succulent. The oysters came with a side of french fries (very warm and deep fried to the perfect texture) and steamed veggies, costing only $14.99. I was overtaken by the smell of pit beef and the "specials" advertising pictures of unique renditions of pit beef sandwiches, including but not limited to: pit beef smothered in provolone topped with grilled portabella mushrooms held together in a bun, a pit beef wrap, and other tasty options. I decided to simplify my order by ordering the pit beef sandwich on a toasted bun, with provolone cheese (extra 50 cents) topped by a very fresh sliced tomato and romaine lettuce which I topped with their homemade barbecue sauce with a side of french fries for $8.95. They oysters were obviously fresh since they were visible on ice when you entered the restaurant. The service was exceptional, since they kept refilling our water cups and asking us about our experience. We are frugal so we saved money by bringing soda and storing it in our hotel fridge. I wish they would open a satellite restaurant in the Northern Baltimore County area.

Went again today and the service was not up to what it was yesterday. Ordered wings in BBQ sauce and extra crispy. I got soft cooked in hot sauce. I also asked for blue cheese on the side and the server forgot. I had to ask a different server to get it for me. Now this other server got my 20% tip and he was feeding me free mudslides once I paid for two of them....wow. Spotty service is a business killer so when I see a server that does not care I observe how the treat the other clients. This time she, the first server was either having a bad day of just didn't care. I will give her the benefit of the doubt.

I wanted to get some raw oysters in Ocean City, and I saw that Bull On the Beach had a raw bar. The oysters were fantastic! My husband and I slurped down a dozen before our meals arrived. Our son had the fried shrimp basket, and the shrimp were great! Nice and crispy outside and juicy inside. My husband ordered a mahi mahi salad that he really enjoyed. I had a seared tuna salad that was on top of an Asian slaw with cabbage and crispy noodles and wasabi. It was seasoned really well and cooked perfectly medium-rare. They have a great selection of beer, and the service was friendly. We would go back here again.

We ate here based on a recommendation. My flounder was overcooked and watery. I told the waitress and nothing was done. My husband's sandwich of ham and pit beef was really dry. My daughter had the open faced beef sandwich and said it wasn't too bad. Overall it was not worth the money spent.

Great restaurant. Delicious food and great prices. We were a party of 16 with tons of kids. Everyone was happy!!!

Been here dozens of times and absolutely crave this when returning to OCMD each year. The pit "meats" are each good especially when topped with the fresh horseradish they supply. Perhaps unexpected from a bit beef joint, the BOTB shrimp salad is spectacular. Though simple, this is easily my favorite food there. A healthy supply of shrimp overflow a round roll with a perfect blend of mayo and celery that is (and the key) blended with old bay seasoning. The old bay give the mixture a kick and as absorbs into the bun, completely compliments this otherwise simple sammich. Fries are ok. Potato salad is very good, not a grocery store mix for sure. The saddlebag sandwich is a nice spin for the adventurous or for the pepper-heads out there. We often get food to carry out from here and it travels well. However, you cannot call in an order which stinks and parking is awful at this corner....so, that's a big drawback when OC is at peak times. Overall, this is a place for no-frills diners, but the quality, creativity and taste will surprise even those who prefer a more upscale dining experience.

We have a history witih Bull on the Beach...it's one of our "must go" places here in OC. But I will admit to being a bit disappointed. I think it makes a better bar than restaurant, because I think I feel this way every time we try to eat dinner with kids there. We forgot how far off the boards it was... and how far from where we are staying. We arrived and it would be a 30 min wait.. not too bad, but there's no place inside to wait and it's chilly tonight. So we danced and pranced and tried to stay warm until our pager went off. We went inside and BRRRRR... it was even COLDER inside. FAIL. The waiter was sat several tables at once so we didn't get the best service immediately (got better as the meal went on). The food... The crab dip is pretty good - not great - but OK. They never serve enough bread with it. My daughter who eats everything did not like her sandwich, or the gravy on the mashed potatoes, so she ended up ordering a kids meal....and she described that as edible. My son ate his kids meal. I had a crab cake sandwhich which is YUMMY if you really like the accent on the crab... there was not much filler, just enough to provide some flavor... so I thought it was fab. I didn't eat it as a sandwich though, I used a fork and ate the crab. The fries were light on the salt and the ketchup generic. The side salad was pretty good... nothing fancy, but tasty and hit the spot. Hubby liked his food... but when we left he said he was disappointed - he picked one of their fancy beef sandwiches and said it had to much cheese and the beef was dry, but he'd been starving so he still woofed it down. Anyway, I just have to remember - this is a place for mussels and drinks, I need to stop trying to make it a family restaurant.

Love the happy hour specials!!! The Bull is a must every time me and my family are in OCMD. They have an excellent raw bar and some decent seafood options. The atmosphere is good and the wait staff has always been friendly.

I'm in Ocean City, MD for a week in late September and almost immediately after seeing nothing but AAA baseball on (Nationals and Oriels), I had to get out and try to find a Phillies game. I stayed at 94th street, easy enough. Bull's has a large, long section where raw seafood is displayed in glass cases with the kitchen right behind it. Next to that is main room with a long rectangular bar and table seating spreading on the outskirts. Most importantly, it had a few screens with the Phillies on. I talked to the owner and he mentioned lots of people from Philly go here to catch their games. Cool guy with a short temper. I ordered a half dozen oysters and started ordering mugs of Yuengling at 2.50 each. The draft list isn't great, with 60 Minute being the only real good beer, but I didn't expect it to be. They gave me seven oysters, which was nice. My friend had just arrived to meet me, that's when things went weird. They gave him a hard time with his ID and then two drunk dudes came in, ordered take out, and started causing a problem with the patrons, thereby having the owner grip them up and throw them out. Then more parking lot activities followed. What a strange turn of events.

The sweet potato fries were their special the night I was there. They should be a regular menu item. They were the best I've had!

Stumbled upon Bull because everything else was closed by 1030pm. Tim the bartender introduced himself and made me the best rum punch ever. We ordered the meatloaf and fries with gravy. The food was great and everyone was friendly. Wished there was a Bull in my town.

Stopped here on our way through town around 1-2 pm. It wasn't busy at all. I will say the food was good but pricey. We had a party of 7, 5 adults and 2 kids under 3. We were treated as a party of "7 or more" and were subject to there 18% gratuity. The hostess was very stand-offiish and the general service was lacking. All in all we were left with full stomachs and an empty wallet. Not much more to say.

Wow, what an awful meal. The rank and file staff we're extremely nice, though ignorant about when it's appropriate to involve a manager. It was evident that the fish, ribs and vegetables we were served had been taken from the freezer and quickly heated before sent to our table. My tuna was so dry that I actually gagged when trying to swallow my first bite. My son, who I might add loves food, exclaimed "this food is terrible". Bottom line: if you're looking for a quality meal, look elsewhere. However, the bar did look like a fun time. Perhaps, they should just stick to pub food and reduce the menu to fried foods.

Went here 2 or 3 times while in OC. It was right next to our hotel and both my wife and I loved it. Typical grill type food, but done really well. They have a good sized menu, not too much, and nothing came off as trying too hard, what you ordered is what you got. Prices might have been a hair high, but it is expected considering the location and tourist eating there as well as the seasonal nature of Ocean City. I can't wait to go back this summer.

Bull on The Beach has been around for years and has been the only place in Ocean City I ever recall getting pit beef. Now, I don't know that pit beef is exclusive to Maryland, but few people I've mentioned it to outside of that part of the country know what it is. Either way, I love it, and relish the chance to have it whenever I'm back in MD. And my friend, Jorge, is an evangelist for the church of Pit Beef and he often drags pit beef virgins to their first experience with the thinly sliced beef sandwiches. This time was no different. 2 newbies were in our midst, and Bull On the Beach is the pit beef place in Ocean City, so we were soon enough seated in a booth ordering some sammiches up. We kept it simple too... 6 people... 5 pit beef sandwiches, and a cup of crab soup for my dad. Bull On the Beach has never been impressive for its decor or atmosphere and it has clearly not changed a bit. It's rather dark inside and the typical, dark, vinyl padded furniture was in its place being, well, dark, vinyl padded, and ugly. The Bull always seems to have its share of flies pestering you and your food, which isn't really a pleasant thing to experience. The sandwiches are just fine. There's nothing mind blowing about them, but the medium rare beef is tasty. The buns were pretty pedestrian... tasting straight out of some grocery aisle bargain bin. The fries were also unremarkable. And, I think Jorge's faith was tested a little bit as the Bull gave him some gastro-intestinal stress later on, if you know what I mean. All in all, Bull On the Beach is pretty average. It's certainly not worth raving about. Ocean City isn't a culinary mecca, but there are many better places to eat.

Our friends love the Bull and I found it to be good to. For me I do not eat meat on a regular basis but wanted to see what the Boneless Rib was all about -- when I got it the first thing that came to mind was a Mc Rib from times past. It was indeed good but with my curiosity satiated I would move on to something else on a second visit. The Crab Dip, however, was awesome and a definite repeat for future visits.

This place is a great place to hang out and drink, sample the raw bar and have a good sandwich with a ton of meat. If you are not in to any of those things there are definitely better places to eat. Fortunately I am and I love this place. The bar area is huge and they have really good beer on tap. The service is always good and the place seems to be pretty clean. Most people would say this place is A-OK but Yay! I'm a fan.

One of my old standby's at the beach. Today was just OK. The pit beef was somewhat dry but the fries were good. The shrimp lacked flavor almost like they were boiled instead of being steamed. The service was good and the atmosphere was laid back. It was relaxing as we took in the last of the O's game before we headed out of town. The food has been better in the past. It was good, just not great today. I'll be back

Didn't try the food, but everything looked great and the people I talked to each night said the food was excellent. My favorite part was the bar staff, which may be the best in Ocean City. Friendly, fun, and great service make this place a keeper when visiting OCM.

Meh. I suppose it's a perfectly adequate loud sports bar / restaurant, if that's what you want. We wandered in on a recommendation from friends, looking for a moderate dinner and a few beers -- overall, we were unimpressed. Atmosphere: if the bar hadn't been so screamingly loud as to overwhelm the dining room, it would have been a fine if kitchy aesthetic. If the dining room had turned off the pop music station that was being drowned out by the country music, that would have helped. Certainly turning down the ear-splitting country music would have helped! Drinks: The beer list was fine, with some nice local craftbrews available in bottles. Limited wine list, full basic bar. Dinner: The service was a little sluggish but not terribly so, and was friendly. My husband and I both ordered variations on the pit beef sandwiches, which seemed the house specialty. The beef was actually pretty good, for this sort of restaurant ... tender and pretty flavorful, and the sandwiches were huge. Mine was topped with a crabcake, which was pretty dreadful ... small and mushy, almost the texture of a crab spread. It was accompanied by fairly tragic tarter sauce. My husband's was topped with a portobello, and seemed basic but decent. Sides were fine, if you don't expect anything special. Overall, adequate if unremarkable at what it's trying to be. Likely a better bar experience than dinner, and better for 20-somethings and partiers than 40-something couples looking for dinner.

We went here for our last night in OC and we had a really good experience. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant was clean with fun decor. It's good all amercian food. We got appetizers of Raw Oysters and I got the special soup of the day Bacon Scallop. OMG the soup was so good!!!!! As far as the Oysters i don't eat them but my Mother-in-law and Husband LOVED them. For dinner we got Seared Tuna salad, Shrimp Salad, and Pit beef. My salad was small with lots of Tuna but the tuna didn't have much taste. My husbands sandwhich was tasty with lots of meat but it was well done and he ask for medium. The shrimp salad was to die for!!! OMG was it so good. I should have gotten that and will get it next time. We overall had a great experience and will go back.

This place had a really good deep pit sandwich. It is definitely the best around Ocean City. For lunch this place is great. Highly recommend a try.

We ate dinner at Bull on the Beach last night and everyone had a god experience. Fresh, cold, tasty oysters from the raw bar, delicious ribs, and juicy pit beef... It was great! Best meal we had this trip to OC and the cheapest even with our beers! Don't go here to order a salad or a fish entree and expect it to be gourmet, order what they're known for!

I love this place. Especially for happy hour. They have great drinks. Try the rum runner and cream sickle. There turkey sandwich and pit sandwiches are great. Service can sometimes be slow which is why 4 stars. But all in all it's a great family restaurant and food is great. Also try the crab appetizer.

Was offseason but sandwich was good, bread was a bit over done. Would return

Seated quickly on a busy vacay August Friday at dinner time and server was really good. We both ordered put beef sandwiches, which were good although bun a little dry. The crab that came on top of one was AWFUL. This is their barn and bay sandwich. Crab tasted out of a can, which is pretty disappointing for a beach restaurant. Clams casino were not great either - mostly cheese and bacon, clam was less than about the size of a dime. Sorely bad overall, would choose another place for pit beef next time and definitely for seafood.

Food was good, prices were very reasonable and service was fast and pleasant. Overall a good experience. We will go back again.

Good ribeye & good roast beef sandwich. Excellent shrimp add on for $7.95 the veggies with the dinner seemed like frozen bagged veggies. Not good. Mashed potatoes good but a $1 extra for gravy??? All in all a good dinner with nice outside seating & good service. Will come back again.

Came here based on Yelp, decidedly unimpressive. Spent over $100 for family of four with only one beer, rest soft drinks. Ribs were not very tasty, and other selections were not more than mediocre: flounder (mushy and overly covered in salt and pepper), turkey sandwich, crab cakes (nice amount of crab, not too much breading, but overly salty). Sides were basically frozen vegetables and frozen fries. Service was at least quick and friendly, covered the basics. I would have preferred we just went to Five Guys or another chain for better food at half the cost.
